I hand-turned this hook from dyed and laminated hardwood that's been impregnated with resin and densified, thus made extremely strong and durable, and also resistant to temperature variations and moisture. I added a wonderful mini rainbow "bead" comprised of Redheart, Padauk, Yellowheart, "Jadewood" and "Indigo" Dyed Hardwoods, and Purpleheart. (Yep, all different woods -- not painted!) Within the main body of the hook, just under this rainbow "bead," there was a tiny hole, so I inlaid little bits of grey-white Abalone Shell, (you can get a better view of this inlay on the inset picture). The whole hook is smooth as glass! Size H (5 mm), eight inches long. Heirloom quality.
