This hook turned out to be incredibly beautiful, and reminds me of the wonderful creations of the House of Faberge, who crafted exquisite eggs and other items for royalty using gold and precious gemstones. I began with a solid piece of verdant green "Jadewood" Dyed Hardwood, then inlaid a wide band of beautiful Kingman Turquoise Gemstones, and then added an inlay of Brass on either side of the turquoise. The brass inlay is made of teeny little stick-like pieces, which gives a shining shimmering golden effect when held in the light. The coolest thing of all is that the top layer of the Dyed Hardwood is a little darker than those below, so it's created marvelous little "spots" giving an extra zing to the whole piece! GORGEOUS! This hook is hand-turned this hook from dyed and laminated hardwood that's been impregnated with resin and densified, thus made extremely strong and durable, and also resistant to temperature variations and moisture. Smooth as glass! Size H (5 mm), just under eight inches long. Heirloom quality.
