"Geometrica"
Materials: "Charcoal," "Fuchsia," and "Cherrywood" Dyed Hardwood
When I start turning a hook, normally my thoughts center around curves, but sometimes, every now and again, a hook will assert her own personailty -- maybe something about the color, or the feel of the hook; perhaps an attitude of thought or design, and result in a geometric panoply, a landscape of straight, crisp lines that excite! I created this marvelous little beauty with various dyed hardwoods, beginning with a shaft of silvery "Charcoal," adding a wide band of "Fuchsia," and a finial of bright red "Cherrywood."
This hook is made from dyed and laminated hardwood that's been impregnated with resin and densified, thus made extremely strong and durable, and also resistant to temperature variations and moisture. Smooth as glass! Size G (4 mm), just under eight inches long. Heirloom quality.
