I hand-turned this hair pin from dyed and laminated hardwood that's been impregnated with resin and densified, thus made extremely strong and durable, and also resistant to temperature variations and moisture. I chose beautiful "Desert Sunset" Dyed Hardwood, which boasts brilliant purple, brown, turquoise, cream, and red colors. The photo shows both sides of the hair pin -- it's amazing how different they can be! Total length is five and three-quarter inches; length below ornamentation: four and one-half inches. Widest top diameter: 16 mm. Heirloom quality.
