Leaves flicker, falling, falling, silvery in the silver moonlight. Lampposts light their twirling, whirling ways, and long silvered leaves gather in gutters, wisps of wind casually ruffling their patterns.

I began this absolutely gorgeous hook with naturally brilliant yellow Osage Orange. I then hand carved a leaf-inspired design, which goes all around the hook -- even over the very top! I then painted this design with metallic acrylic, adding several accent colors to bring subtlety and life to the piece. I then added a 3 mm Blue Topaz set in Sterling Silver, which brings brilliant sparkle!

This ornamentation does have a little texture to it, so I made sure to put it far enough to the top of the hook that it won't rub your hand whether you use the "knife" or "pencil" hold. This goes for the blue topaz as well -- it won't even come close to touching your hand! This piece is signed with my artist's mark. Size J (6 mm), just over seven and one-half inches long.
