I began this hook with "French Green" Dyed Hardwood, and for a factory-made material, I absolutely adore the fact that this piece has so much cool color variation -- shading light and dark, incorporating bits of brown as well. Into the top of the hook, I hand-carved a lovely swirling design, which I painted in metallic acrylics: a golden "vine" shaded with silver and silver-green. I then inlaid a Cubic Zirconia gemstone, set in Sterling Silver. (This is a real CZ, NOT a crystal -- it sparkles sooooooo prettily in the hand!) In fact, the whole hook look even more glorious in "real life" than it does on screen! (I tried to take the best pictures I could!)

This ornamentation does have a little texture to it, so I made sure to put it far enough to the top of the hook that it won't rub your hand whether you use the "knife" or "pencil" hold. This goes for the Cubic Zirconia as well -- it won't even come close to touching your hand! This piece is engraved with my signature/artist's mark. I hand-turned this hook from dyed and laminated hardwood that's been impregnated with resin and densified, thus made extremely strong and durable, and also resistant to temperature variations and moisture. Smooth as glass! Size M (9 mm), eight inches long. Heirloom quality.
