One of my special custom colors, "Ocean Waves" Dyed Hardwood is the rhythmic pulse of the sea, wave after wave washing over ocean waves, in the middle of the deep blue, far away from any continent or island: the peaceful undulation of time-honored motion. What I think is absolutely awesome about this nosty is the two little knots that you can see just above the yarn groove -- proving that wood still wants to be wood, even though you can dye it and press it flat -- the true character wants to show through :-) I hand-turned this nosty from dyed and laminated hardwood that's been impregnated with resin and densified, thus made extremely strong and durable, and also resistant to temperature variations and moisture. Smooth as glass! Total length is just over eight and one-half inches. This nosty is engraved on the bottom with my signature/artist's mark. Heirloom quality.
