Are diamonds *really* a girl's best friend? Not in my neck of the woods -- Honduras Rosewood Burl has got to be one of the most exquisitely lovely proliferations of nature ever to be seen! This extraordinary piece has got it all -- beautifully swirling chocolate brown grain, here and there with patches of cream, dark-chocolate paths meandering all over the place, lines of chatoyancy that look more like ripples in silk than hardwood, and finally wonderful clusters of eyes, like tiny owlets peeking out from their tree. To add to this magnificence, I inlaid a band of brilliantly blue crushed Chrysocolla gemstones, which complements the color of the Honduras Rosewood perfectly!

The photo came out quite a bit darker than the piece looks in the hand, and indeed it is a truly STUNNING work of art, straight from nature, just barely assisted by your friendly woodturner. I cannot possibly overemphasize the true Perfection of this piece.
