Materials: "Constellation" ** Dyed Hardwood, Abalone Shell, 24k Gold Plated Findings

Looking up at the night sky I wonder if stars know they look so beautiful, twinkling up there in the heavens, sparkling lovely sparkles, flashing every brilliant color of the rainbow if you look long enough. Set against a black velvet sky, those incredible sparkling diamonds were the inspiration for this piece. I began with "Constellation" Dyed Hardwood, then inlaid crushed Abalone Shell into a wide band in the middle. The tiny flecks of shell reflect the light into sparklies of greenish, pinkish, and white, and they look like stars among the blackness.

The photos don't show this marvelous effect terribly well, however, the top photo does give you a *little* bit of that effect. In the hand, it sparkles quite prolifically.

Findings plated in 24k gold, this nifty holder is lined with nickel-plated brass, and will easily accommodate sewing, embroidery, or yarn needles, toothpicks, or even small beads. Personally, I use one of mine as a small pill box. Comes with an attachable keyring, or can be used as a necklace or on a chatelaine. This (like all of my other Art Tools) is one of a kind piece. Total length is three and one-eighth inches long. Smooth as glass! Heirloom quality.
