Materials: South American Bocote

Of all the items I make, with seemingly every single type of wood in the world, Bocote is the most difficult for me to let go of. (I want to keep every single piece!) Bocote, a wood from South America, has the most gorgeous, striking grain patterns -- stripes of milk-chocolate brown on a golden background that meander every which way... and the eyes! the eyes! (Oh my, I'm getting all worked up here! ;-) Bocote has the most marvelous swirling EYES and lovely rippling patterns. (The picture above shows two different sides of the same nosty). Oh, the wonders of Nature! Total length is eight and one-half inches. Heirloom quality.
