Materials: Canarywood, Turquoise Gemstones

This nosty is made from an incredible piece of wood I found at my LWS (Local Wood Shop), which I call "The Canary who wanted to be a Tulip," because of its stunning resemblance to Tulipwood, a true rosewood with cream background and fine pink/red grain lines. This particular cut of wood is simply gorgeous! The photo above shows two different sides of the nosty -- one with an incredible sword-like streak running through, the other with a "blush" of red at the tip. To further ornament this beauty, I carved an extra-wide band and inlaid a veritable mosaic of Turquoise Gemtones. Total length is eight and one-half inches. Heirloom quality.
