Platters are one of my favorite forms to create -- the wide rim can be detailed with lovely curves, and the shallow inside is a delightful challenge to cut finely and cleanly. I enjoy creating a classical ogee form for the bottom, detailing the center with beads or a "button." Platters, more than any other form, display wood grain to it's best effect!
