All of my items are guaranteed to perform the function that they are meant to, e.g. hair pins are meant to hold up hair, crochet hooks to create beautiful needlework, etc. I am proud of my work and stand behind it 100%. If any at time an item breaks due to a defect in workmanship, I will repair it free of charge.
Sometimes items break for other reasons, however. Perhaps it's fallen on a hard floor, or your doggy decided it was tastier than his bone, etc. If any of these things should happen, please e-mail me and I'll see what I can do. Each piece I've created is special to me, and I would be happy to restore it to glory if at all possible. Depending on the work involved, I may charge a nominal fee, which will be presented to you before any work proceeds.
Having said this, I'd like to give you a few tips to help prevent damage:
- Wooden items are made out of wood, not metal or plastic. They will break if you drop them on hard surfaces.
- Hair pins should be held, NOT by the end of the pin, but on the base of the shaft below the ornament. If you wrench the pin into your hair by the end, there is a good chance it will not survive the encounter. ALWAYS insert the pin gently into your hair by holding it at the base of the shaft.
- Wooden crochet hooks aren't meant to crochet "hard" materials. Crocheting wire, metal, or other "hard stuff" will very likely damage your hook. I would suggest getting a "throw away" metal hook for these purposes, as it generally ruins the aluminum ones as well.
- I would suggest, if at all possible, to keep your wooden items out of the range of small children or pets -- they can knock things off of tables, or chew on them.
- Treat your item with common sense and it will last for many years to come.
The wooden items I create are sturdy, durable, and meant to be used if you desire. I hope that with utilizing different colors and types of wood they also become collectible, and you will enjoy your wooden items far into the future.
